Most mobile physiotherapists charge NDIS participants for travel time. Bayside Mobile Physio doesn’t, within our Greater Sydney service area. Every dollar of your funding goes toward your treatment, not the drive to get there.

What the NDIS price guide actually allows

Under NDIS Pricing Arrangements, providers are permitted to charge for travel time and non-labour costs, and many do. We’ve chosen not to, for self-managed and plan-managed participants within our footprint. It’s a deliberate policy choice, not a requirement, which is exactly why it’s worth checking whether a provider actually offers it before you assume it’s standard practice (see the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits for what providers are permitted to charge).

What this means for your plan

When a provider charges for travel, that cost comes directly out of your plan rather than sitting separately from it. Thirty minutes of travel time each way, billed at the Therapeutic Supports rate, adds up fast: over a year of fortnightly appointments, that’s thousands of dollars of plan funding spent on getting a therapist to your door rather than on the therapy itself. Not charging for it means that funding stays available for actual sessions.

Is there an NDIS mobile physio that doesn’t charge travel?

Yes. Bayside Mobile Physio is one; within our Greater Sydney service area, no travel fee is added to your invoice for self-managed or plan-managed NDIS participants, and we’re a registered NDIS provider. It’s worth asking any provider you’re considering the same direct question, since the NDIS price guide permits travel charges by default and not every provider waives them.
