No Travel Fees for NDIS Physiotherapy in Greater Sydney

Most mobile physiotherapy providers charge NDIS participants for travel. Bayside Mobile Physio doesn’t — not within our service area.

If you’re a self-managed or plan-managed NDIS participant in Greater Sydney, your physiotherapy sessions with us come without a travel surcharge. Every dollar of your funding goes toward your treatment, not the drive to get there.

What the NDIS price guide actually allows

Under the NDIS Pricing Arrangements, providers are permitted to charge participants for travel time and non-labour travel costs (such as kilometres driven) on top of the standard session rate. For participants in areas where providers travel significant distances, these charges can add up quickly.

Many providers do charge for travel — and they’re entitled to. We’ve made the decision not to, for participants who fall within our service footprint.

What this means for your plan

When a provider charges for travel, the cost comes out of your NDIS plan under the same support category as your therapy. That means fewer sessions available to you over the course of your plan year.

By absorbing travel costs within our coverage area, we make sure your funding does what it’s supposed to do: support your health and independence.

For example, if a provider charges 30 minutes of travel time at the Therapeutic Supports rate each way, that’s the equivalent of a full session cost added to every appointment — before treatment has even begun. Over a year of fortnightly visits, that adds up to thousands of dollars of plan funding spent on travel rather than therapy.

Our physiotherapists are based across Greater Sydney, which means we can reach most participants in the metropolitan area without significant travel. Our current service hubs include:

Who is eligible

Our no-travel-fee policy applies to NDIS participants who are self-managed or plan-managed.

How to book

Booking is straightforward. You can request a home visit online or call us on 0468 079 075. We’ll confirm your location falls within our coverage area, match you with an available physiotherapist, and get your first appointment scheduled.

Your support coordinator or plan manager is also welcome to make a referral on your behalf.

There are no hidden costs, no gap fees, and no travel charges within our service area.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a referral to access physiotherapy under my NDIS plan?

No. If you are self-managed or plan-managed, you can engage us directly without a GP or specialist referral. You do need physiotherapy listed as a support in your plan under the Therapeutic Supports category (Support Category 15).

What if I live outside your current coverage area?

For participants outside our standard footprint, a travel charge may apply.

Can my support coordinator refer me?

Yes. Support coordinators can submit a referral through our referral page. We’ll follow up within one business day.

What does a home visit physiotherapy session involve?

Your physiotherapist will come to your home with everything needed for the session. Initial appointments include a full assessment of your goals, functional capacity, and any relevant history. From there, we develop a treatment plan aligned with your NDIS goals and deliver ongoing sessions at home, on your schedule.
