NDIS Physiotherapy Sydney

Bayside Mobile Physio offers professional NDIS physiotherapy in Sydney. We come to you with tailored treatments to help you move better and live independently.

NDIS Physiotherapy Home Visits in Sydney

NDIS physiotherapy is allied health support funded through a participant’s National Disability Insurance Scheme plan. It helps participants build physical capacity, improve function, and work toward independence goals. Sessions are delivered by a registered physiotherapist and typically funded under the Capacity Building — Improved Daily Living category of a participant’s plan.

Our Mobile NDIS Physiotherapy Services Include:

  • Comprehensive mobility and functional movement assessments
  • Strength, balance, and coordination training
  • Pain management and rehabilitation programs
  • Home exercise and movement coaching
  • Equipment and assistive device recommendations
  • Ongoing progress monitoring and goal tracking

Conditions We Support:

Our physiotherapists work with NDIS participants living with a broad range of disabilities and health conditions, including multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury, Parkinson’s disease, stroke, autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability, muscular dystrophy, spina bifida, and Down syndrome.

If your condition is not listed, contact us. If physiotherapy is funded in your plan, we can help.

Functional Capacity Assessments

We also provide Functional Capacity Assessments for NDIS participants. An FCA documents how your disability affects your daily functioning and is used to support your NDIS plan review or initial access request. Our physiotherapists conduct assessments in your home – the environment where your functional capacity matters most.

Funding for NDIS Physiotherapy

Many NDIS participants don’t realise that physiotherapy is fully fundable under their plan — and in some cases, across more than one support category. Here’s how it works.

Capacity Building — Improved Daily Living (CB Daily Activity)

This is the most common category used to fund NDIS physiotherapy. It covers assessment, treatment, and therapy aimed at building your functional independence and capacity to participate in daily life.

Physiotherapy funded under this category may include:

  • Initial assessment and goal setting
  • Neurological rehabilitation
  • Balance and falls prevention programs
  • Strength and mobility training
  • Gross motor skill development for children and young people
  • Gait retraining and walking aid assessment
  • Home exercise program development and review
  • Progress reports and NDIS plan review reports

This category is appropriate when the goal of physiotherapy is to improve what you can do independently — whether that’s getting in and out of bed, walking safely around your home, or participating in community activities.

Capital Supports — Assistive Technology

If your physiotherapist identifies that you need equipment to support your mobility or function — such as a wheelchair, walking frame, standing frame, or custom splints — the assessment and prescription of that equipment can be funded under the Assistive Technology category.

This includes:

  • Assistive technology assessments
  • Equipment trials and recommendations
  • Prescription reports for low, mid, and high-cost assistive technology
  • Review of existing equipment

In some cases, physiotherapy may also contribute to assistive technology assessments and home modification reports — typically in collaboration with an occupational therapist. Your support coordinator can advise whether this applies to your plan.

Which Category Applies to You?

The right funding category depends on your individual NDIS plan, your goals, and what your Local Area Coordinator or support coordinator has set up. If you’re unsure which category covers physiotherapy in your plan, we recommend speaking with your support coordinator or plan manager.

At Bayside Mobile Physio, we’re familiar with how NDIS funding works and can help guide you through the process.
